Our campground is high in the hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains just 3 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you wish for your camping experience to have all the elements of nature, then Montebello is the place to be. We are surrounded by mountains and streams and we’re nearby several hiking and nature trails.

The Tye River winds along State Route 56 on the way to Montebello. We are surrounded by the George Washington National Forest and close to Crabtree Falls, the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi. Several AT Trailheads are just a few miles away. Nelson County has an abundance of things to do during your stay, including wineries, breweries, orchards, and year-round outdoor recreational activities and historical sites.

Day Pass Information

  • Available April 1st through September 30th (Not available on holiday weekends or any weekend in October)
  • $20.00-Rated for 4 people; Max of 6 people per Day Pass
  • $2.50-Per Extra Person (Who are over the age of 5)
  • Includes: A site with a picnic table & fire pit; usage of facilities in the campground, including the lake, boats/kayaks, playground.

  • Rates are up to four (4) people.
  • Additional people – $5.00 per day. Age five (5) and under are free.
  • A two (2) night minimum stay is required on weekends & holidays.
  • Check-In Time: 3:00 p.m.
  • Check-Out Time: 11:00 a.m.
  • Early check-in is not permitted without prior approval from management.
  • Only one tent is allowed on primitive tent sites T1-T12 and A-E, no exceptions.
  • Two tents OR one small camper and one tent are allowed on water/electric sites.

Rates are subject to change without notice therefore advanced reservations made in the off-season may increase. Should we increase our rates, the current rate will apply at the time of check-in.

* Virginia Sales Tax is 5.3% and is not included in rates listed above.
* Camping is an outdoor experience, therefore, refunds will not be issued due to the consequences of mother nature.
